Go on exchange, it is worth it!

Why I have gone on exchange?

Simply because of all the stuff I would have missed. I have been in Norway for more than six months now and I made experiences I wouldn’t have made with staying at home. I wouldn’t have friends from all over the world, I wouldn’t have a second family, I wouldn’t have so many stories to tell and I wouldn’t have had so much fun in the last half year.

Exchange means being different and change yourself but also learn about what really identifies you. You will be confronted with prejudices and you have to overcome some challenges  but when you're done with that you are going to have the best time ever! So what have I learned while I was here and what made this year so amazing for me?
I learnt how amazing it is to experience what happens when people from all over the world come together and mix there cultures. It is not easy to believe but imagine you're sitting together with 16 different nationalities, all in one room and with one aim to look at (do your exchange year). You are maybe going to play a Mexican game, eat some Thai sweets or just listen to some stories from South Africa. Then you are going to talk about how it is to go to school in Norway, the German friends back home will be jealous of your teachers because there are not as strict as the Germans, the French can simply not imagine that you are using computers in class and the Canadian girl loves the stories you tell about the 17th of Mai. However this is going to be in you're case and where your going to go, you have to go on exchange for experiencing it.

If you ask exchange students: "Tell me one word which explains your exchange." Then they will answer with words like: awesome, unforgettable, breath taking beautiful, great, funny, interesting or just: "The year of my life!", and as long you haven't been on exchange, you will have to trust us!
